What We Do
The Department of Communications helps GU-Q leadership, faculty, staff, and students gain public recognition for their accomplishments, deliver events, and market programs. The communications team also provides advisory and consultancy services to assist the GU-Q community in their engagement activities through visual identity management, branding, collateral development, and public and social media interaction.
Brand Management
Manage the overall global brand presence of Georgetown’s Qatar campus and supporting Georgetown University’s brand in the Asia and MENA regions.
Deliver strategic guidance and research on public relations and perceptions of GU-Q
Raise the public profile of our brand
Monitor and compose crisis communications
External Communications
Collaborate with community to communicate strategic messages, and amplify member voices.
Write and disseminate stories about our people, events, and accomplishments
Manage GU-Q website domains
Manage GU-Q social media platforms

Internal Communications
Collaborate with employees and students on communicating events, activities, and announcements with internal audiences.
Manage emails and newsletters including editing and scheduling
Write and approve posts to GU-Q social media accounts
Communicate stories and media calendar with Washington, DC, campus stakeholders
Manage internal notice boards and digital screens

The Office of Communications regularly fulfills community request in a timely manner. Timelines are general guides, and may change based on university priorities or other urgent request that take priority. A project starts once the client has provided all relevant details.
