Asma Shakeel Wins 2024 Rhodes Scholarship
Asma Shakeel (SFS’24), a senior who researches missionary history in South Asia, has won the 2024 Rhodes Scholarship — one of three Hoyas to win the oldest and most competitive international scholarship this year. This is the first time in nearly 30 years that three scholars have been selected from Georgetown in the same year. Read more.
Rogaia Abusharaf Named Sonneborn Interdisciplinary Collaboration Chair
Georgetown University Provost Robert Groves recently announced the Provost Office Faculty awards, and one of Georgetown University in Qatar’s own, Professor Rogaia Abusharaf, was named 2nd Sonneborn Interdisciplinary Collaboration Chair, alongside her collaborators, Professors Anaya Chakravarti and Cóilín Parsons, both from the College of Arts and Sciences.
